BUYER'S GUIDE

GoHighLevel vs Keap: An Honest UK Comparison

The short version: GoHighLevel is cheaper at almost every list size, and Keap has native invoicing that GoHighLevel does not.

Keap starts around $249 per month for 1,500 contacts plus a mandatory onboarding fee, and the price climbs in blocks as your list grows. GoHighLevel is $97 flat with unlimited contacts. Unless you specifically need Keap's built-in invoicing and quoting, the arithmetic is one-sided.

The mandatory onboarding fee is the part people miss. Around $499 before you have sent a single email, on top of the first month. Factor it into any first-year comparison.

    WHERE THE GAP WIDENS

The Same Business, Different List Sizes

Indicative monthly figures, excluding VAT and usage. Keap figures assume annual billing.

    1,500$97~$249GoHighLevel ~$152 cheaper

    5,000$97~$369GoHighLevel ~$272 cheaper
    10,000$97~$759GoHighLevel ~$662 cheaper

There is no crossover point. Unlike HubSpot or ActiveCampaign, Keap does not have a tier where it undercuts GoHighLevel, because its entry price already sits well above GoHighLevel's.

Add GoHighLevel usage costs — SMS, email and calls at £20 to £80 a month typically. Add Keap's onboarding fee in year one. The gap holds either way.

    BEING FAIR

    Four Things Keap Does Better

    • 1

Native invoicing and quoting — genuinely built in, where GoHighLevel needs a Stripe integration or separate accounting software. For a business where quoting is central, this is a real advantage.

    • 2

Everything on one plan — no tier decisions and no features held back. What you see is what every customer gets.

    • 3

Longer track record — Keap, formerly Infusionsoft, has been doing small business automation far longer, with a correspondingly mature ecosystem of consultants.

    • 4

Guided onboarding — the mandatory fee buys structured setup. Expensive, but you are not left alone with an empty account.

User reviews of Keap are mixed, with recurring themes around interface complexity and value for money. Worth reading current reviews yourself rather than taking anyone's summary, including ours.

    THE OTHER SIDE

    Six Things GoHighLevel Does Better

    • 1

Cost at every list size — roughly a third of Keap's price at entry, and the gap grows as your list does

    • 2

Unlimited contacts and users — your bill does not move when you grow, which Keap's does, in steps

    • 3

Funnels and landing pages included — Keap's page building is limited, so most users pay for a separate tool

    • 4

Sub-accounts — managing separate client workspaces is core to GoHighLevel and absent from Keap

    • 5

SaaS Mode — resell the platform as your own branded software, which Keap does not offer at any price

    • 6

No onboarding fee — you can start on GoHighLevel for the cost of one month

    WHAT UK BUYERS SHOULD WEIGH

Four Things That Only Matter Here

    • 1

Both are US platforms — neither offers UK or EU data residency as standard, so both involve transferring personal data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards

    • 2

Both price in dollars — no UK tier on either, so your cost moves with the exchange rate on both

    • 3

VAT at 20% — excluded from published prices on both platforms

    • 4

Keap's mobile app has regional limits — available in the UK, but check current coverage if your team works across other markets

    IF YOU DECIDE TO MOVE

    Migrating From Keap

Keap to GoHighLevel is one of the more common migrations we handle, and it goes smoothly with one consistent caveat.

Contacts, tags, custom fields and order history export reliably. Keap's tagging model maps onto GoHighLevel tags and custom fields cleanly, which makes the data side straightforward.

Campaign Builder sequences do not transfer. Keap's automation has to be rebuilt in GoHighLevel. For long-standing Infusionsoft accounts this is often the largest part of the job, because years of accumulated campaigns need reviewing before anyone decides what is worth rebuilding.

Invoicing needs replacing. This is the one genuine functional gap. If you rely on Keap's native invoicing, moving means either a Stripe integration or connecting your accounting software. Scope that before committing.

Our migrations start at £1,995 with a full test migration before cutover, and your Keap account left intact until you confirm.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

    GoHighLevel vs Keap Questions

    Is GoHighLevel cheaper than Keap?

Yes, at every list size. Keap starts around $249 per month for approximately 1,500 contacts plus a mandatory onboarding fee of around $499, while GoHighLevel is $97 per month with unlimited contacts. Unlike HubSpot or ActiveCampaign, there is no tier where Keap undercuts GoHighLevel.

Is Keap the same as Infusionsoft?

Yes. Infusionsoft rebranded to Keap, and the product line was consolidated. Older comparison articles referring to Infusionsoft are describing the same platform.

Does GoHighLevel do invoicing like Keap?

Not natively to the same standard. GoHighLevel handles payments through Stripe and can connect to accounting software, but Keap's built-in invoicing and quoting is genuinely more complete. If quoting is central to how you sell, weigh this seriously.

    What is Keap's onboarding fee?

A mandatory one-off charge of around $499 when you sign up, covering guided setup. It is not optional, and it should be included in any first-year cost comparison.

Which is better for a UK service business?

GoHighLevel for most, on cost and on native SMS, funnels and booking. Keap if invoicing and quoting are core operations you would otherwise pay separately for.

Can Keap manage multiple client accounts?

No. Keap has no sub-account structure, so agencies managing separate client workspaces need GoHighLevel or a separate Keap account per client, which is not commercially viable.

    Which has better automation?

Both are capable. Keap's Campaign Builder is mature and visual. GoHighLevel's automation covers SMS, calling and AI natively and is included on every plan rather than tiered.

How hard is it to migrate from Keap?

Data migrates reliably. Automation has to be rebuilt, which is where the effort sits — particularly for long-standing Infusionsoft accounts with years of accumulated campaigns.

Does Keap have a free plan?

No. Neither platform has a permanently free tier, though both offer trials.

Should I move if I am happy with Keap?

Probably not on features alone. Move if the cost gap is material at your list size, if you need sub-accounts, or if you are paying for separate funnel and booking tools on top.
